Lightly salted tomatoes in jars with garlic - quite a popular summer snack, and this is the explanation. This appetizer is very quickly prepared, contains a small amount of salt and does not contain vinegar at all, from preservatives only salt and sugar. Since the finished tomatoes will be in brine, in a jar, they can be stored for quite a long time. For salting, you can use almost any variety.

List of ingredients for light-salted tomatoes:

  • 1 l of water;
  • 1 kg of tomatoes;
  • 5 cloves of garlic;
  • 1 tbsp. Sahara;
  • 1 tbsp. salt;
  • 7-8 black peppercorns;
  • fresh or dried horseradish leaf, dill umbrellas.

Cooking salted tomatoes without vinegar

Tomatoes must be ripe, but strong, free from damage and dents. Wash them thoroughly, remove the tails, if any. Clean tomatoes need to be punctured with a toothpick in the place where the stem was attached. Puncture should not be deep.

Garlic cloves need to be cleaned, if you sour immediately a large amount of tomatoes and garlic a lot, you can use a special device for cleaning garlic. Cut the peeled chunks into plates.

In this form, leave the tomatoes for 10 hours, then remove them in a cold place. If you need to get salted tomatoes in a jar faster, keep them at room temperature for a couple of days.
