Ketchup from plums and tomatoes for the winter at home
Now ketchup has become one of the most famous sauces in the world. He has thousands of recipes, in each country it is prepared in its own way. As a rule, juicy tomatoes, vinegar and spices are in the basis, but in different nations it has long been a habit to enrich the long-familiar taste with something new and unusual. So I decided to offer you to make ketchup from plums and tomatoes for the winter at home. Of course, ready-made ketchups are sold on the shelves of almost all grocery stores, but is it really possible to compare “your own” sauce with something else? The recipe is simple, as seen in the photo. Be sure to cook!
Plums add some sweetness to homemade ketchup. Such a sauce can be perfectly closed for the winter and at the same time, it will be useful for the body, since the plums remove excess cholesterol from the body, there are a lot of minerals and vitamins, which means that they enhance the human immunity.
Ingredients:
- plums - 1 kg.,
- tomatoes - 500 g,
- Bulgarian pepper - 1 pc.,
- garlic - 1 head,
- cilantro - bundle (to taste),
- salt to taste
- hops-suneli - to taste,
- apple vinegar - 3 tbsp.
How to make ketchup from plums and tomatoes for the winter
We start with plums. First, they need to be washed well, then each cut into two parts, remove the bones and clean the worms, if any. Drain the plums with boiling water, drain the water and set aside.
Next, tomatoes and peppers. Wash the washed vegetables dry, chop the tomatoes into slices, clean the pepper and cut it as well.
For harvesting garlic three on a fine grater, cilantro finely crumbled with a knife.
Start preparing the sauce itself. We take a pan, in it we pass through a meat grinder plums, tomatoes and pepper.
We put the saucepan on medium heat, wait until the sauce boils and foam appears, which should be removed immediately.
Next, add the rest of the ingredients in the sauce: seasoning, salt, herbs and garlic.
Stir and cook for another half hour.
Now we have to strain our sauce through a sieve.
Selecting another container, filter the ketchup through a sieve, put it again on the stove and bring it to a boil. Ketchup from plums ready. To prepare it for the winter, add three tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and close in sterile jars.
