Tomato "Petrusha gardener": variety suitable for any region

Most likely, marketers are guilty, who slightly “exaggerated” the quality of the fruit, and the amount of the crop, describing it on bags of seeds. The tomato “Petrusha the gardener” characteristic and description of the state register are more modest than the description of the packers and the vegetable growers were finally disappointed.

Variety description

Originator varieties is VN Dederko. The variety quickly passed the test and in 2013 was entered in the register of breeding achievements of the Russian Federation under the number 9052448.

Tomato "Petrusha gardener" is recommended for cultivation as a mid-ripening variety, a salad destination for growing in private gardens of private farms of citizens.

Description of habit

The plant is not high, determinant, standard, does not require staking and special attention. Leaves with large sizes and shapes do not differ and have a typical tomato appearance.

Many vegetable growers who have already grown "Petrusha" are very pleased with the habit of the bush. Its shtamb is strong, stocky, up to 60 cm high. Some say that the bush does not require supports at all.

Fruit Description

Tomato fruits are surprisingly interesting shapes. Cylindrical, aligned with a slightly pointed top, they attract attention in the garden and in the market. Tomatoes are smooth, even, without special density.

In the period of ripening color is not impressive. Even picking up a pink color, a huge green spot does a disservice and the tomato is not presentable. However, gradually gaining biological maturity, the stain disappears and the tomato becomes saturated pink with shades of crimson.

The commission at registration of a grade estimated taste of fruits on "well". However, those who pack up the seeds describe its excellent taste. This led the growers to be confused, because the expectations were not met.

The taste of tomato is saturated, without acids, but does not produce much furore. As they say growers, "There are better."

Fruits have an average weight in the range of 150-180 g, but the “producers” slightly exaggerate and say about 300 gram fruits. It also "knocks down" consumers and they are unhappy.

Productivity and quality

When varietal tests for "Petrusha gardener" legalized the number of commodity shaft 6.4 kg per square meter square garden.

Of course, such a yield is not great, but determinant, standard varieties cannot equal yield with tall ones. But the "producers" again exaggerate the virtues of tomato, describing them as "super-productive."

For keeping the tomatoes average. Fully matured, they can lie for 7-10 days, then their “body” becomes soft.

Purpose

Tomato is not very suitable for preservation, because the fruits are large, but for processing the sauce is good. In this aspect, it also has flaws. Tomato sauce after overcooking:

  • thick;
  • saturated;
  • dense;
  • delicious.

But, its presentation is not at all impressive - it is pale. Classic ketchup or a beautiful red sauce, and from Petrusha the gardener, without the addition of other varieties, you cannot get good color.

Advantages and disadvantages

Considering the variety of tomato "Petrusha gardener" reviews, photos, yield, unfortunately, not all growers are satisfied with the variety. Many reviews indicate that the variety did not come to court.

The biggest advantage of a variety is the beauty of its seedlings. All gardeners agree with this position. The seedling is obtained:

  • stocky;
  • not stretched out;
  • beautiful;
  • healthy.

Such a seedling, according to vegetable growers trading in the market, is divergent in the first place.

The plant itself has claims on the other side that it is sometimes too short and the elongated, cylindrical fruits, which were tied to the first hands, fall on the ground, which does not have a very positive effect on their condition.

Describing the advantages of a variety can be said in one word "average". So you can describe everything:

  • average taste;
  • average yield;
  • average disease resistance.

Features of growing varieties

Variety, like all tomatoes of medium ripening, needs to be sown earlier. Otherwise, it will be possible to enjoy the fruits only by the end of summer.

Cultivation region

Seeding tomatoes must take into account the region. The grade is intended for all regions. However, where the summer is short and there are no greenhouse conditions, a high yield will not work.

For greenhouses, the variety is not very suitable, as short-growing does not allow to fully master the entire area, and the average yield will lead to non-profitability of cultivation in the greenhouse structure.

Disease and Pest Resistance

When registering a variety, he was not informed about his attitude towards tomato diseases. This means only one thing - a tomato needs preventive treatments.

No matter how stable the variety is, an experienced grower does not rely on the mercy of nature, but conducts regular and timely processing.

The success of a healthy harvest depends on:

  • start spraying (as a rule, this is the phase of the first ovary);
  • frequency rates (every 14-16 days depending on weather conditions);
  • drug efficacy;
  • the regularity of the implementation of activities.

In order for the treatments to be effective, it is recommended to constantly change the fungicidal preparations. This manipulation will not allow microscopic fungi to get used to the active substance.

The complaints that the tomatoes “Petrusha the gardener” do not grow for a long time are true, their terms completely depend on the conditions created by the vegetable grower.

In the phase of two true sheets, picks are carried out in individual containers. If the soil is purchased and intended for seedlings, then the fertilizing culture does not require.

If the soil mixture was prepared independently and without additives of mineral compounds, then 10 days after diving, the seedlings are fed with a solution of organic matter or mineral fertilizers.

When transplanting in open ground, seedlings should be 55-60 days old.

Transplantation in open ground

Choosing a planting place for tomatoes, you need to take care of predecessors. You cannot plant tomatoes in places where potatoes, tomatoes or peppers were grown last year.

A place for tomatoes should be:

  • sunny
  • protected from the winds;
  • without stagnation of water.
  • with light, nutrient soils.

Unacceptable early planting of tomatoes. If the air temperature drops below 12 ᵒС, then growth and development stops, and zero air temperature will destroy the plant.

If the soil in the garden is heavy and sour, then when planting it is advisable to bring a bush, point humus or fresh compost.

Care culture

Tomatoes "Petrusha gardener" is not very fruitful.According to reviews, enhanced nutrition does not produce the proper effect on them and does not cause an abundance of the ovary or an improvement in taste.

However, like any other sort of "petrusha" are needed:

  • timely watering;
  • hilling;
  • loosening;
  • weed removal;
  • top dressing.

What vegetable growers are right about is that the variety has absolutely no need for support and stepson. A bush-tree, perfectly set down with the weight of its fruits.

Among the reviews, there are those who say that without a hive, the bush grows too much and turns into a short, curly tree. In this case, the fruits become shallow, and the taste becomes sour.

Looking at the reviews of vegetable growers, it should be understood that any crop should be monitored and acted in accordance with the temperature and soil characteristics of the region.

If the land is fresh, then the tomato must be fed. The first feeding is carried out in 2-3 weeks after planting in open ground with nitrogen solutions. The second and subsequent, with an interval of 15-20 days, but already nutrient solutions containing potassium and phosphorus.
