Tomatoes in jelly for the winter, awesome!
Tomatoes, pickled in gelatin for the winter - a smart and original preparation for the winter. With the help of a recipe with a photo, you will prepare not only a festive and elegant, but also an incredibly tasty snack, just yummy fingers.
This snack is suitable for any dish, and you can just enjoy it without anything. Before eating it is recommended to hold the preservation in the refrigerator for several hours. Then the brine will completely harden and turn into a real tasty vegetable jelly.
Ingredients (it turns out a full liter jar of tomatoes):
- tomatoes - about 700 g.,
- sweet pepper - 0.5 pcs.,
- onions - 1 pc.,
- gelatin - 1 tbsp. l.,
- water - 1000 ml.,
- sugar - 2 tbsp. l.,
- large kitchen salt - 1 tbsp. l.,
- bay leaf - 1 pc.,
- pepper-peas - 2 peas,
- vinegar - 1 tbsp. l. / 1 liter.
Cooking a tomato in gelatin for the winter
It is best to take ripe cream tomatoes. They are tight and dense, perfectly retain their shape and not too large. Another great option is cherry tomatoes. True, for the price it is more expensive, but it looks very impressive. We wash the fruits, if the tomatoes are large, then we cut them into two parts (we leave the cherry tomatoes whole).
In a sterilized jar impose tomatoes. Fill the container to half, then put the ball of chopped onion onion, and then - slices of sweet pepper. Next, pour the vegetables on top with dry gelatin. On a liter jar will be enough one tablespoon with the mountain.
The rest of the place in the jar is filled again with tomatoes and onion rings.
Cooking brine: in a suitable bowl, mix a liter of water, table salt, granulated sugar, laurel, peppercorns.
Pour the hot brine into a jar and set it to be sterilized in a container with a covered bottom. Sterilization spend 15 minutes, and if you took a cherry tomatoes, then 5-10 minutes. Next, pour in a portion of vinegar in a jar and cork with steamed caps.
Keep in a cool place. Before serving, keep in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.
