Peerless tomato and apple ketchup for the winter
Tomato ketchup for the winter turns out to be delicious, just lick your fingers. And all because of the addition of apples, sweet paprika and cinnamon. Apples perfectly complement tomatoes - the sauce is thick, sweet and sour, children really like it. There are no harmful additives in homemade ketchup, this sauce is prepared without vinegar, but if the crop is harvested in your own garden and garden, then this is just a treasure!
It will take 60 minutes to cook. From the ingredients indicated in this recipe, you get about 1 liter.
Ingredients:
- tomatoes - 1.5 kg;
- apples - 1 kg;
- salt - 30 g;
- granulated sugar - 50 g;
- ground sweet paprika, cinnamon, water.
Cooking tomato, apple and pepper ketchup
My tomatoes, cut out the seal with the stalk. Cut the vegetables into small slices, throw in a thick-walled saucepan.
Apples are also thoroughly washed, core. Finely chop the fruit, add to the stewpan to the tomatoes.
Pour half a glass of boiling water, close the stewpan tightly with a lid and send to the stove, bring to a boil over high heat.
We turn on the timer for 45 minutes, reduce the gas to a minimum and you can go about your business - vegetables and fruits will be steamed without your participation.
When the ingredients are almost completely boiled, put them in a sieve and wipe thoroughly so that only unnecessary peel and seeds remain on the grid. There is pectin in the apple peel, and when there is a lot of pectin in the sauce, the sauce is thick.
The mashed puree is again transferred to the stew-pan and put on the fire.
Pour white sugar, unaltered table salt, red sweet paprika and ground cinnamon. Wigs can add 2 teaspoons or a little less, with ground cinnamon, just put 1/2 teaspoon.
Bring the sauce to a boil, boil over the smallest fire for 10 minutes without a lid. The sauce sprays a lot when boiling, so be careful.
In prepared sterilized jars, spread the boiling mass. For storage in the apartment we sterilize containers with a capacity of 500 ml for 15 minutes, with a capacity of 1 liter for 20 minutes.
Additional sterilization is not required to store tomato ketchup in the refrigerator. By the way, this sauce can be decomposed in silicone molds and frozen.
