Description and characteristics of the drug "Zhukoed"
Reproduction of the Colorado potato beetle is very fast (the female lays up to five hundred eggs, after 21 days the larvae already eat potato tops), weather conditions are not so important for them - it would be food. If you do not use any means (folk, chemical), then the tops will be destroyed and there will be no harvest.
The manufacturers were faced with the task of creating a drug that destroys not only beetles, but also their eggs and larvae. The August company, the creator of such a drug, combined three substances in it (different classes of chemical compounds) that have different effects on the pest.
The drug is called "Zhukoed ".
Description of the drug:
- available in containers with a volume of 9 ml;
- a combination of three substances: alpha-cypermethrin, imidacloprid, clothianidin;
- consumption of funds: 1.5 ml of funds per 3 liters of water;
- mortar consumption: 3 liters per 100 m²;
- processing: spraying;
- crop: potato;
- form of the preparation: suspension (concentrate);
- storage period: 2 years;
- storage temperature: from -30 ° to + 35 °.
The composition of the drug
- Imidacloprid. A substance of fast, effective action, accumulates in leaves, stems. In beetles, after eating such leaves, paralysis occurs, pests die.
- Alpha cypermethrin. The substance acts upon contact, accumulating on the sheet surface. It acts in the body after an hour, affecting the nervous system of the pest.
- Clothianidine. It has the ability to accumulate in the plant, retaining properties for a long time. The insect dies when the substance gets inside.

The effectiveness of any chemical agent is designed for the correct use of doses of active substances, so familiarization with the instructions is mandatory.
Instructions for the drug "Zhukoed":
- on 100 m² of area - 1.5 ml of funds;
- dial the desired volume (the exact amount can be measured with a syringe) and place it in any non-food container;
- pour a liter of water, mix;
- add more water, bringing the volume to three liters, mix;
- pour liquid into a jar, a bottle, a tank with a sprayer;
- treatment should be carried out in calm, dry weather;
- after rain apply spraying again;
- Dispose of residual mixture.

The combination of the three substances in the composition of the drug has some the benefits before other means:
- increases resistance to negative environmental influences;
- contributes to the conservation and growth of potato tops (tops play a large role in the nutrition of tubers);
- quickly acts (adult bugs, larvae, eggs die during the day);

- effective, regardless of temperature and humidity;
- one treatment destroys the entire population;
- subject to safety measures, does not have a harmful effect on a person.
Precautionary measures
Compliance with safety precautions will protect against the harmful effects of chemicals:
- thick clothes will protect the skin, gloves - hands, glasses - eyes, mask - respiratory tract, rubber shoes - legs;
- treatment should be carried out in calm weather in the morning or evening (not such a high temperature);
- when spraying, it is forbidden to drink, smoke, so that the sprayed product does not get into the respiratory tract;
- children, pets, pregnant women are not allowed near the cultivated area;
- mixing the drug with other means is prohibited;
- do not use dishes for food when preparing the solution;
- after the procedure, remove everything, take a shower, rinse your mouth;
- Choose a place inaccessible to children away from food.

Used Zhukoed last year. Indeed, after spraying the bugs died during the day, I perked up, but after the rain the insects again, though in a small amount, appeared. I had to repeat the processing. The summer was not too rainy, so I do not know how the situation would have developed in the event of rainy weather.
And one more thing: my plot is not very large, only three hundred parts, one bottle was enough for two treatments, and if the plot is large? The tool is not so cheap, and over a larger area the consumption will be much greater.
