When to sow peas?

The most successful peas (Alpha, Vega, Voronezh green and Ambrosia) give a good harvest almost all summer. This means that such peas can be planted in the ground until mid-July.
The ideal time for sowing peas is April and the first half of May. It was then that the earth was already freed from frost and, at the same time, enriched with moisture. In other words, peas sown in this time period will not need to be watered, because he will take the right water from the ground. Since we started talking about the fact that peas are a good predecessor for most vegetables (and especially for solanaceous plants), it is worth noting those vegetables that “prepare” the ideal soil for it. For peas, beans and other legumes, it is best to select the beds on which cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes or cabbage used to grow. At the same time, after legumes it is undesirable to sow them: similar cultures very deplete the soil for them.

At your dacha, beautiful and sweet green peas will grow on a sunny or half-shaded bed. He does not like a thick shadow: like other legumes, he prefers to reach for the sun, pouring its fruits into its rays.

As for the land in the garden, light sandy loamy soils or black soil are best suited. Pea does not like soil with high acidity: it will affect the taste of the crop. If your dacha still has acidified soil, produce land before planting peas (350 g of lime is added per 1 sq. M of land).

Every year for many years now I have been planting green peas along a fence made of netting netting. I only select my seeds from the very first pods ripened completely on the bushes. I retreat 10 cm from the fence, draw a groove along the entire length to a depth of approximately 5 cm. I quickly pour water from the watering can from the watering can and plant peas at a distance of 5 cm. I sprinkle with ash and level the groove. ALL!!! Then they grow themselves, cling to the wire with antennae. When they grow to a height of about 20 cm, I fasten the rope along the beds. To strengthen the roots from the wind, they are very weak.
