Outdoor landing

There are three ways to plant or propagate armeria - planting seeds immediately in the place designated in the garden, planting seedlings, dividing bushes and cuttings.

seed armeria
  • By planting seeds in the soil under the winter plant, the seeds germinate amicably, without any problems. Seedlings need to be planted in the early spring, starting in February, no later than the month of March. As heat comes and leaves appear, you can transfer it to the open ground.
  • Planting by cuttings makes it possible to propagate armeria almost the entire warm season. Small rosettes are separated from the bushes, they are planted to root simply in the ground, you can use a sheltered container with a film, and then rooted plants can be transferred to the garden.
  • Delenki is another convenient way to breed armeria by dividing adult bushes 2-3 years old. They are simply dug up, carefully separated and settled in a new place, keeping about 20 cm between plants. Actually, you can plant it more densely, then the plant will spread out with a beautiful dense carpet.

Care for armeria is not at all complicated, and it does not cause much trouble to the gardener - to water on time, to fight weeds, to feed periodically for good growth and flowering, but to crop periodically.

As for feeding, armeria needs to be fed before flowering for active growth of flowers and the duration of the flower-bearing period. Then in the summer, feed a couple of times with minerals or organics. Pruning as soon as the active growth of flowering has ended with secateurs, this will make it possible for the armeria to bloom once more and delight the gardener's eye for a long time. Many species of armeria will also be green and beautiful in winter, but for example, turf needs for the winter, pruning, covering with lapnik. That's all, in fact, care for this beautiful plant.

Armeria Seaside - pleases the summer resident's eye with a variety of colors: lilac colors alternate with pink, red, carmine, can bloom for more than 2 months, and grow to a height of 20cm.
Armeria Soddy, also called juniper-leaved - a wonderful perennial, with narrow leaves collected in a rosette. She gives bright red / pink flowers in abundance covering the foliage. It pleases with its color 1.5-2 months. It is quite winter-hardy, often grown in the northwest, only needs good drainage.

Pests and diseases

Another advantage of armeria is that it almost does not get sick, pests do not attack it. She can be threatened only with decay of rhizomes, if she is watered too hard, and leaf spotting may appear. In this case, fungicides need to be used, because spotting impairs flowering. Also, aphids can attack armeria. For prevention, in the spring you need to treat your pets a couple of times with drugs such as Intavir or Kinmix, and the path to the armeria will be closed.
