“Frozen in time” - how much violets can bloom?

VioletsEvery budding flower collector is interested in the question, how long do violets bloom at home? An experienced florist knows from his own experience what happiness it is to find a new flower stalk on a new violet, promising in the near future to become its first flower. The first flowering is always a small miracle, magic, and even though most often in the first flowering, the violet does not yet show its full potential, joy and tenderness it does not take a drop.

How long do beautiful violets bloom?

Everyone wants the violet bloom to last as long as possible. And it’s better to “freeze” it in time in general - so that it always remains side by side. However, as practice shows, this is almost impossible. Each violet has its own, measured by strict nature, flowering period. Of course, we can slightly affect its duration, but no more.

First of all, the duration of flowering depends on the type of flowers. Perhaps you have already heard such definitions as “fools”? But this is only a visual effect. The name “hedgehogs” means that the faded flower just falls off, and sometimes completely separates from the peduncle, and you get it as a “brooch”, though very short-term storage. And when we see a window sill under the violet dotted with fallen petals, it immediately seems to us that it has already faded. But this is not so - she has more and more flower stalks growing and blooming. Such violets can also form a beautiful hat of flowers over the leaves, but they are less durable, since the flowers constantly fall. A typical example of such transient flowering is Georgia Sunset.

And there are long-lived flowers - they can bloom for several months without ceasing, for example, violets of the Frozen in Time varieties (Frozen in time - a very suitable name that accurately describes the nature of the variety) and Yukako chimera (its first flowering can last almost 11 months) .

In general, in order to slightly extend the flowering period of your pets, you need to properly maintain them. Everything should be in moderation - light, water, air and humidity. In the plentiful sun, the flowers will “burn”, and if the sun is not enough, the violet will weaken and quickly cease to bloom. Watering should be configured very sensitively - you can neither dry it nor pour it (violets are very capricious regarding watering, and especially during flowering).

We must not allow the blooming violet to be in the draft or to blow it from the open window in the summer. Before flowering, the violet (if this is not a novelty in your collection, but already a well-deserved veteran) needs to be transplanted into fresh soil. Experts recommend replanting violets at least once a year (and preferably every six months), since during this time she “eats” all the nutrients from the soil and needs fresh nutrition.

Another way to help the violet to prolong flowering can be a variety of fertilizers and top dressing. Using them, be very careful, as you can harm the plant by overdoing the amount of additives.
