Pumpkin compote - tastes like pineapple
Do you want to surprise your household with a delicious drink? Try making pineapple flavored pumpkin compote for the winter. From an inexpensive seasonal vegetable, a large amount of exotic drink is obtained. Pumpkin contains B vitamins, beta-carotene, magnesium, phosphorus, magnesium. This helps protect cells from environmental influences and prevents mutations in cancerous ones.
Citric acid in the composition gives a subtle acidity. To give a characteristic aroma, add a circle of fresh lemon to the glass when serving.

Ingredients:
- pumpkin pulp - 1 kg;
- citric acid - 1 pinch;
- sugar - 300 g;
- cinnamon - 1 stick or 0.5 teaspoon;
- water - 2 l.;
- vinegar 9% - 100 ml.
How to make pumpkin compote like pineapple
Peel the pumpkin and seeds, cut the fibers. Cut a kilogram of pulp into equal cubes and put in a deep saucepan.
Dissolve citric acid in water and add cinnamon.
Pour the pumpkin with acidified water and let stand for 4-6 hours in a cool place.
Put the pan to heat on a slow fire. Pour sugar and wait until it is completely dissolved. Then mix gently so as not to disrupt the integrity of the pumpkin slices.
When the compote boils, boil it for 10-15 minutes. Add vinegar at the end and cover.
Wash and sterilize cans. Pour the compote into dry hot jars, trying to ensure that the amount of pumpkin is no more than 1/3 of the volume.
Boil the lids for at least 5 minutes. Catch from boiling water and immediately put on cans with compote. Tighten each tightly and turn upside down. Conservation should cool down slowly, in a thick blanket. Turn the cans over again and check for swelling, clouded liquid. If this happens, you have to digest the drink completely.
Store pumpkin compote in a place where there is no access to sunlight. After 2-3 months of storage, the pumpkin acquires an exotic pineapple flavor. If you select varieties with light yellow pulp, the resemblance to pineapple will be complete.
