Spicy Sauerkraut
Outside the window is autumn, which means the season of fruits and vegetables. Over the summer, many enjoyed delicious, light, vegetable salads.
We offer you to pay attention to the recipe for delicious sauerkraut with spices. This appetizer refers to instant dishes, which means that it is made very easily and does not take much time.
It is worth noting that the composition of spices can be changed to your taste. Each time experimenting, you will receive a new, original taste, such at first glance, a banal sauerkraut.
List of ingredients:
- white cabbage - 1 kg.,
- large carrots - 1 pc.,
- salt-2.5 tbsp. l.,
- sugar - 1 tbsp. l.,
- vinegar - 30 ml.,
- water - 250 ml.,
- spices: cloves, black and allspice peas.
How to cook sauerkraut with spices

We clean and rub the carrots on a coarse grater. Carrots can also be cut into slices or cubes.
Next, chop the cabbage in thin strips.
Put vegetables together. Mix them with your hands, slightly pressing down, so that the vegetables give juice.
Add salt, sugar and mix again, crushing vegetables.
Now prepare the brine. To do this, put spices in the water and bring the water to a boil, after which we add vinegar and remove the brine from the fire.
Pour vegetables with brine and spices to the top.
Next, cover the bowl with cabbage with a plate or lid and leave it until it cools completely. After waiting for the cabbage to cool, we send it for two, or maybe three days in a cool place. Periodically, it is necessary to raise the plate and mix the cabbage.
Two to three days after preparation, you can transfer the finished cabbage to a clean jar and transfer it to the refrigerator for storage.
Serve cabbage on the table, better seasoned with vegetable oil, with the addition of green or onion.
