Plums in syrup for the winter
This is a universal sweet preparation of ripe plums in syrup, which will delight both adults and children. Due to concentrated sugar syrup, plums can be stored in a suitable condition for a long time. The recipe is great for harvesting for the winter. They can be eaten not only as a dessert, but also used as a decoration for homemade cakes, jellies and other goodies.
Syrup can also be used, because diluting it with boiled water, we get a funky plum drink. And with such syrup, you can soak cakes for cake or pastries. Making plums in syrup is easy and simple. The crucial moment is the choice of plums. They must be ripe, tight and dense, and taste sour-sweet.
Ingredients:
- plums - 2000 g .;
- sugar - 800 g;
- citric acid - half a teaspoon;
- water - 2000ml. (about).
From this number of components, we get six 800-gram jars of plums in syrup.
How to make plums in syrup for the winter
We sort out our cream so that there are no damaged or worms. We take only high-quality fruits. We wash them.
Cut into halves, removing the seeds. It is important that the plum variety is one from which the bone is easily extracted.
We prepare glass containers: we clean the cans with soda, wash them and dry them. Then sterilize over steam or in a microwave oven. Boil the lids for five minutes. Cleaned plums fill clean, but dry jars. Do not forget to leave a place for sweet syrup.
But before the syrup, we fill the container with fruits with boiling water for a quarter of an hour.
Then we pour off the cooled water and begin to prepare the syrup itself: add sugar to the water and cook for five minutes after boiling. If you took too sweet fruits, then add citric acid to the syrup.
Hot sweet fill fill the void in the banks. It remains to roll up the jars and lower them into the basement for storage.
