The basic procedure for growing tomato

Sowing seeds is most rational to carry out around the 20th of March. There are two ways to sow seeds for seedlings:

  1.           In a container for germinating sprouts at home.
  2.           Immediately into the open ground.

In the second case, you need to make sure that the soil at this time is warm, about 21 degrees or more. Otherwise, the seeds will die in the cold and will not germinate. Thus, outdoor sowing is best done in the southern regions with a warm climate.

Important! Plant plants by choosing well-lit areas without wind.

Tomato variety Ladies fingers grows safely in neutral and oxygenated soil. Soil can be purchased at the store and must be additionally treated for bacteria and infections.

Seeds are planted to a depth of 1 cm. As soon as the first seedlings sprout, it is necessary to provide it with irrigation and loosen the earth to saturate it with oxygen. If seedlings sprouted at home in special containers, the plants must be transplanted into the garden in warm weather. Up to 8 tomato bushes per square meter. Before planting, it is recommended to treat the soil with boiling water and saturate it with mineral fertilizers.

Tomato Diseases

The Ladies fingers variety has medium resistance to diseases and various pests. But Ladies' fingers are especially sensitive to mosaic.

This disease can spread both on the street and in the greenhouse. If one bush falls ill, it is required to immediately remove it from the garden and burn it to avoid infection of the remaining plants.

Mosaic can be identified by a change in the color of tomato leaves, their shape (they curl and wrinkle), brown, brown and yellow-orange spots appear on the fruits. The bush itself begins to look very painful. With such a disease, there is a risk of losing the entire crop.

Important! Never leave diseased plants or parts of them near healthy bushes. Mosaic bacteria can quickly reach them and infect them.

To avoid such a problem, it is necessary to take care of the health and safety of plants at the stage of preparation for sowing. Choose large and healthy tomato seeds. For prophylaxis, they must be well treated with a weak solution of manganese, and then wash off its residues under running water. For these purposes, potassium diluted in water is also excellent.

Moreover, in this way, already mature plants can be secured. When you removed the diseased bush from the garden, the rest must be treated with the above solutions using a spray bottle.

What dishes to use

Small fruits of tomato Ladies' fingers are very convenient and rational to use in conservation as a whole. Tomatoes in large quantities and tightly go into any jar and can be used in the preservation of mixed vegetables.

In the processed form, the “fingers” also showed themselves well and are great for preparing dressings in borsch, stew, tomato paste, as well as ketchups and sauces.

Fresh tomatoes are also very tasty, fleshy, can be used for salads. But due to their meatiness they are not suitable for making tomato juice.

I liked the variety, very good. She planted him in the garden. Ladies' fingers initially showed themselves by slow-witted, but then the ovaries and fruits quickly went. By the way, there were many fruits that were very tasty and fleshy.

Very interesting and unusual tomato variety. I was lucky with the yield, maybe the land is good. I picked a lot of tomatoes last year.Ladies' fingers differ from the usual round tomatoes in their taste and shelf life. Does not wrinkle in hands when slicing. In fresh form, I did not really like it, but for the blanks and preservation the very thing.
