How to grow seedlings
For sowing tomatoes use special dishes. It can be containers or boxes made of plastic, cassettes and much more.
Any utensils for growing seedlings should have holes for drainage. This is necessary to prevent the appearance of the "black leg".
For seedlings, you can use special soil, which is sold in specialized stores. You can also apply a mixture of peat and sand in equal quantities.
Before starting sowing, moisten the soil well. Also, do not forget about the preparation of seeds: for this, it is tedious to treat them with a weak solution of potassium permanganate and dry.
Immediately after sowing, the containers should be covered with foil and put away in a warm room. The temperature during this period should be +23 degrees.
After the first shoots appear, the film is removed and the temperature is reduced to + 8- + 9 degrees, at night + 10- + 15. And obligatory additional lighting with a lamp.
Further, when the first true leaves appear, they are dived into more spacious containers.
How to prepare a greenhouse
To make it possible to plant seedlings in the soil in May, you should pull an additional layer of film on the greenhouse.
Advice! To increase the temperature in the greenhouse, you need to leave a layer of air between the two layers of film.
To improve ventilation, it is necessary to build window leaves from all edges. Also, in order to protect the bushes from the appearance of diseases, you should remove the soil layer about 10-12 cm in size. And the one that remains should be treated with copper sulfate solution for disease prevention.
Important! Do not plant tomatoes in the same greenhouse for two years in a row. All because the infection is able to persist in the ground and affect fresh bushes.
The beds should be prepared 10 days before the intended planting in the soil. To do this, they are loosened, the remaining weeds are removed, humus is introduced.
Features of planting tomatoes
When planting plants for permanent residence, you need to remember some rules.
- Soil for planting should be well warmed up. This is necessary in order to prevent root decay, which can lead to loss of bushes. To warm the soil, you can cover it with a black film.
- Excessive deepening of seedlings is prohibited. This is because it can lead to the formation of additional roots and, as a result, a halt in the growth of tomatoes.
- Do not use a lot of nitrogen. This can lead to the formation of excessively large tops, and the ovaries may be completely absent.
- You need to carefully examine the bushes before planting in the soil. Remove yellowed as well as cotyledonous leaves located at the very bottom.
- Tomatoes need to be planted on gloomy days, and also in the evening after the sun has already set.
How to care for tomatoes in a greenhouse
Watering
Experienced gardeners do not recommend watering tomatoes during the first 10 days after planting in the soil. Water for this should be warm - + 20- + 22 degrees.
During the period of active growth of tomatoes, watering is done after 4-5 days, water consumes about 4-5 liters. on 1 m2. During flowering, the rate of water consumption should be increased to 10-13 liters.
Ventilation
The optimal order of humidity and temperature is an important condition for growing tomatoes. Plants are not afraid of drafts, so they need ventilation. It is important to do this after watering.
Garter
Darenka grows to 1.2 meters and needs a garter to support. For the greenhouse, linear or frame trellises are suitable.
Stepson
Tomatoes are extremely important in the timely removal of stepsons, all because the side shoots can obscure the bush, which significantly increases the ripening time of tomatoes.
Top dressing
After 10-15 days after planting tomatoes, the first top dressing should be performed. To do this, you can apply the following solution: 10 l. water, 1 tbsp nitrophoski and 0.5 l of liquid mullein. Under one bush you need 1 liter. solution.
The next feeding is carried out 10 days after the first. To do this, take 10 liters. water, 1 h. l potassium sulfate, 1 tbsp. Fertility fertilizers. Such top dressing needs 3-4 for the entire season.
How to determine if a plant is missing something
- Lack of nitrogen is characterized by a discoloration of the stem, as well as leaves and fruits. The leaves become smaller and acquire a yellowish tint, and the fruits become much harder and smaller.
- With a lack of phosphorus in the soil, the leaves twist.
- Curly leaves are characteristic of potassium deficiency.
- With a lack of calcium in the soil, the leaves become covered with yellow spots.
- Lack of sulfur is manifested primarily on young leaves. They turn light green, after turning yellow. In this case, the stems become excessively brittle.
- Lack of boron is characterized by blackening of the stem at the growth point, and the fruits may become covered with brown spots.
Grade Advantages:
- good yield;
- due to the convenient shape and small size, look great in the bank;
- thanks to a sufficiently dense peel, they do not crack during conservation.

Tomato fully corresponds to what is written about it. It was grown in seedlings in a film greenhouse. I liked the variety as a whole. Tomatoes are very beautiful, tasty and look great in a jar. I also liked the canned ones very much, the dense skin did not allow the fruits to crack.

This year I met with Darenka. Great tomatoes. The color of the immature, in my opinion, was too dark. But matured acquired a rich red tint. The tomatoes are delicious. I’ll still plant.
