Tomato "Dubrava": characteristics and description of the variety

Tomato Gardeners today give increasing preference to those varieties of tomatoes that are unpretentious in maintenance, do not require tying, pinching, give a good harvest, growing on open ground. This variety includes tomato "Dubrava": characteristics and description of the variety.

 

Tomatoes "Dubrava" are a stunted plant, usually not reaching a height of more than 70 cm. The deciduous mass is quite dense, covers the entire bush. The branch forms a little, the fruits are decoratively located among the green mass of leaves. Among the undoubted advantages of this variety are:

 

- early ripening: the period of complete ripening reaches 85-110 days;

- high resistance to variability of weather conditions. Even if the climate provides, for example, unexpected sharp cooling, the tomato will easily and without consequences for the fruits;

- high yield: about 5 kg of tomatoes can be grown on 1 square meter of land, subject to the proper conditions for caring for the plant;

- does not need to be stepson;

- does not need to be tied up due to low height;

- the bush holds its shape well due to its stability, that is, there is no need to put a support;

Tomato

Due to its compactness and early maturity, the Dubrava tomato can be successfully grown even on the windowsill of the balcony. The fruits are medium in size, round in shape, red in color, weighing between 55-110 g. The flesh of the tomato is fleshy, the walls are thin, there are few seeds.

 

The attractiveness of this variety lies in the fact that it can be used both for raw food and for the preparation of canned goods (ketchup, juice, mashed potatoes).

Seedlings are sown in late March. Plants are transferred to the beds in May-June, depending on the stability of nighttime temperatures in various climatic latitudes. To increase productivity, you need to regularly feed both seedlings and an adult plant. Agricola and various humic growth stimulants are well suited for this.

 

Tomato bushes will feel best on the south side, where sunlight prevails throughout the day. The peculiarity of the Dubrava variety is that it can be planted in the same place for several years in a row. Do not plant tomatoes too close together. The optimal distance is about 50 cm.
