Growing seedlings

Sow seeds need 50-55 days before the planned date of planting in the beds or in the shelter. The seeds do not need to be processed, since the producer has already taken care of this. They are sown in soil prepared in advance, or bought in a store, often it already contains all the substances necessary for tomato seedlings and is saturated with trace elements.

After planting, the soil is mulched with peat or soil mixture, the layer should be approximately 1 centimeter. Then it is poured with warm water, covered and placed in heat. When the sprouts hatch, the shelter is removed and the container is placed in a bright place. The optimum temperature for seedlings during the week is +16, then it is increased to 20-22 degrees. Pickling young plants in separate containers is carried out when 2-3 leaves appear.

Seedlings are watered 1-2 times a week; liquid complex fertilizers can be applied several times. Before landing, they temper it, taking it out onto the street, begin to do it in about a week.

Transplant and care

Young seedlings are transferred in the phase of 6-7 leaves, by this time at least one inflorescence should already have formed. Bushes are planted, focusing on a 30 by 50 pattern, by 1 m2 place 6-8 plants. Before each transplant, it is recommended to add a small handful of wood ash to each well. It is necessary to take out plants from glasses extremely carefully so as not to damage the root system.

Regular watering and loosening of the soil are very important for the formation of the root system of seedlings. After all, as you know, until the roots are strengthened, the fruits will not be tied. When the fruits on the hand have reached the stage of technical maturity, you can remove the leaves located below. This procedure will accelerate the ripening of tomatoes and prevent the development of fungal diseases. It is recommended to form plants in 1-2 stems, then remove stepsons during growth.

You can mulch the soil, this will help maintain moisture, and will prevent the appearance of weeds, which draw useful substances from the soil.

The Kakadu variety responds well to mineral fertilizers. They are applied to the soil every two weeks, stopped 14 days before the harvest.

I read a lot of good reviews about the Kakadu variety on the Internet, and I liked the characteristics, I decided to plant. Seeds were sown in March, seedlings were grown in a heated greenhouse, and the result was strong. Not a single bush got sick, the first ripe tomatoes were plucked at the end of June, it tastes just delicious!

I was very pleased with the Kakadu hybrid, seedlings grew without problems, did not cause trouble, and developed well. Planted in a greenhouse, the bushes are compact, not very tall, I had about 90 centimeters. Tomatoes are juicy, with a rich taste. They are stored for a long time, if torn off at the stage of technical maturity. So be sure to plant this variety next year.
