Description and description of tomato "Ural hero"

2.03.2018 Tomatoes

The Ural bogatyr is a mid-season, tall variety. Designed for growing in a greenhouse. The plant grows up to 2 meters, therefore, requires mandatory garter.

Also, the plant needs timely removal of stepsons. The best is the formation of a bush in 1-2 stems.

The fruits are pink, large, have a heart shape, some specimens grow trapezoid. The weight of tomatoes is 400-800 grams. The flesh is dense, fleshy, not a lot of seeds. The taste is pleasant, sweet. They make delicious fresh salads, as well as juices, sauces and pastas. The variety has excellent yield indicators.

It all starts with seedlings

Seed preparation

First of all, you need to sort them by manually removing small, empty and broken ones.

Important! In order to increase seed germination, they need to be heated in hot water for about 2-3 hours.

Then you can hold them in a solution of mineral fertilizers

Soil preparation

There are several options for soil:

  • soil from the garden 1 part, humus 1 part, peat black or pressed 1 part, wood ash (0.5 l per 1 bucket of soil mixture), superphosphate (2 box of matches for 1 bucket);
  • soil from the garden 1 part, sand 1 part, black or pressed peat 1 part, a solution of any mineral fertilizers.

Also for seedlings, the soil that can be bought in a store is perfect.

Sowing seeds

The prepared soil is slightly moistened and poured into boxes. It is leveled and slightly compacted. Then make small grooves (about 1 cm), and we do about 5 cm between rows. Seeds are placed at a distance of 2-3 cm. Then they are sprinkled with soil and moistened. Next, put the boxes in a dark place with a temperature of +22 degrees.

After about five days, the first shoots appear. The first watering is carried out using warm water is not plentiful.

The second watering is carried out one to two weeks after the first. Then the plants are fed. At this time, they should have one real leaflet. For fertilizer suitable means "Effect". It helps to strengthen the roots.

When there are already 2-3 leaflets on the plants, the seedlings are picked in a small container. Suitable 10X10 cm. They are filled with the same soil that was used previously.

Advice! If there is an elongated seedling, it must be buried in the soil a little stronger than the rest.

After diving, seedlings should be watered daily, preventing the soil from drying out.

After 20-24 days, the plants are transplanted into large containers, size 10x10 cm. Watering is done once every 7 days.

The double transplant method inhibits seedling growth, preventing them from stretching. And timely watering will provide them with the correct development of the roots.

Advice! If the tomatoes still stretched out, you should reduce the frequency of watering and lower the temperature. Superphosphate top dressing will also help.

Greenhouse preparation

The best time for planting seedlings in a film greenhouse is May 1-10. But, it should be remembered that during this period it can still be quite fresh, especially at night. Therefore, it is advised to cover the greenhouse with an additional layer of film. It is removed about June 1-5.

Important! A greenhouse for tomatoes should be equipped with window leaves, since plants need ventilation at the time of flowering.

To prevent an outbreak of disease, the following precautions should be taken:

  • remove about 10-12 cm of the upper layer of the earth;
  • then the soil is sprayed with a hot solution of copper sulfate (1:10).

Land preparation

If the greenhouse has clay or loamy soil, it should be added: peat, sawdust and humus in one bucket per m2. In addition, superphosphate (three tablespoons), urea (1 teaspoon), wood ash (1-2 tablespoons) are added to the soil. Then dig the soil.

Planting Rules

Advice! Seedlings that have grown are never deepened, because they can take extra roots. Such bushes are best planted vertically.

Tomato Care

After planting, seedlings are not watered for about 12-15 days. After 10-12 days, the bushes should be tied in a convenient way. The plant is formed in one or two stems with one lower stepson. Also on the stem should leave 7-8 stepsons. All others must be removed.

Before flowering, tomatoes should be watered once every 5-6 days. To do this, you need warm water at the rate of 4-5 liters. on 1 m2 of area. During the fruit formation of water, it is necessary to use 10-15 liters.

Top dressing

At the time of growth, about 3-4 root dressings should be produced. The first - 20 days after planting the plants in the greenhouse. To do this, you need: 10 liters. water, 1 tbsp. a spoon of nitrophoska, 500 g. liquid mullein.

The second - 10 days after the first. Need: 10 liters. water, 1 tbsp. a spoonful of complex fertilizer, 1 teaspoon of sodium sulfate.

The third - 12 days after the second. Need: 10 liters. water, 1 tbsp. a spoonful of superphosphate, 2 tbsp. tablespoons of wood ash.

At the time of fruiting, tomatoes should be fed with the following composition: 10 l. water, 1 tbsp. a spoonful of sodium humate, 2 tbsp. tablespoons of superphosphate.

Reviews

Marina, 45 years old. I love to dig in the ground and have been doing this for a very long time. I especially like to grow tomatoes. Last year I met a new inhabitant of my greenhouse. This is the Ural hero. In the greenhouse, it performed preliminary sanitary treatment, so the tomatoes did not get sick with anything and pleased with the harvest. I liked the fruits to taste. I also made a lot of blanks in the form of juices and ketchups.

Victoria, 36 years oldI am a beginner gardener and only choose varieties of tomatoes, but I liked the Ural Athlete. Although I am a little wary of tall varieties, there were no difficulties. Bushes tied to a trellis. Harvest pleased. Tomatoes taste great.

Victor, 62 years oldI really like tall varieties of tomatoes, as they give an excellent harvest and save a precious place in the greenhouse. The Ural hero was liked by our family. Made a lot of tomato paste.
