How to deliciously pickle a watermelon for the winter
Do you like to surprise loved ones with delicious blanks? Then try pickled watermelon. It is prepared according to a special recipe, with the addition of spices and honey. This fills it with an unusual aroma and original taste. Such a watermelon will be appreciated by everyone. It is great as an appetizer for strong drinks, and also it is delicious to eat with side dishes and meat dishes. Be sure to cook a watermelon for the winter according to such an unusual recipe, and all homeworkers will thank you. We choose only ripe and juicy watermelon for snacks, with bright flesh. Remember that the more seriously you take the choice of watermelon, the tastier your snack will turn out.
Ingredients:
- watermelon pulp;
- honey - 1 tbsp;
- table salt -1 - 2 tsp;
- vinegar 9% - 2 tablespoons;
- water - 1 l.
- garlic - 1 clove per 500 ml. jar;
- pepper - peas;
How to Pickle Watermelon for the Winter
Cut the watermelon in half, and then cut it into triangular pieces. It is not only very beautiful and aesthetically pleasing, but it will also be very convenient to eat it later. Pieces of watermelon are put in a clean and dry jar. It is better to use containers not large in size, for example, 0.5l.
In each of the jars we put a whole peeled clove of garlic and peas.
Now we cook the brine: measure out 1000 ml of water, add a tablespoon of natural honey (you can have more, try the brine), a teaspoon of salt and a couple of tablespoons of vinegar, after boiling. Cook until all components are completely dissolved.
Ready honey brine fill jars with watermelon.
Next, we send our preservation for sterilization. We spend it 20 minutes after boiling.
After that, the workpiece will be stored for a long time. Finally, twist the jars and leave to cool in an inverted position. Do not forget to wrap them in a warm blanket.
After cooling, we hide preservation in the basement or a cool pantry. Before consuming pickled watermelon, it is recommended to cool it in the refrigerator.
