The recipe with step by step photos will tell you more about the process.
Ingredients:
- ripe pumpkin - 500 gr;
- sweet apples - 500 gr;
- sugar - 0.5 cups (to taste).
How to prepare pumpkin and apple puree for the winter
Cut peeled apples into thin slices. Transfer to a bowl, cover with half sugar.
From the pumpkin, cut the peel, clean the middle with fibrous pulp and seeds. We cut too thinly. Spread on top of apples, sprinkle with the remaining sugar. Shake and leave for two to three hours to let the juice.
When the sugar melts and a syrup is formed, we transfer the pumpkin and apples into a cauldron or cookware suitable for cooking.
Warm up over low heat. As soon as it boils, cover with a lid. We steam the slices of pumpkin and apples for about half an hour until almost the whole syrup has evaporated, and the slices are softened.
For a more delicate, smooth consistency, pumpkin and apples need to be rubbed through a sieve. If a rougher texture is allowed, grind with a submersible blender.
We put the cauldrons on the fire again. At this time, on the next burner we sterilize jars of a suitable volume (for feeding we take the smallest ones), boil the lids. We spread the boiled mashed potatoes over the banks, tightly twist the lids.
It is better to cool the mashed potatoes under a warm blanket or blanket so that the heat remains longer. The cooled jars are removed in the lockers or put into the basement. Good luck with your workpieces!
