You can combine different types of fruits, the main thing is that you eventually like it. Today for the winter we will prepare tasty and unusual jam from plums with orange.
If plum jam is a familiar thing, then using oranges, you can surprise both households and guests with the most delicious dessert. When serving it to tea, get ready to accept praise, since not many have tried this combination and will definitely want to know the recipe for this piece.Plum has useful properties, and orange is familiar to everyone as a source of vitamin C, which makes this jam especially relevant in the winter, during colds.
Let's make jam from blue plum, but in principle there can be any variety, the main thing is to remove the seeds and tail. Fruits must be dense and intact, put off the overripe, as they may contain worms.
Orange emphasizes the taste of plums and adds a touch of exotic, so feel free to combine these fruits and you will see jars of unusual jam on the shelves of the pantry.
Ingredients:
- plums - 500 g;
- orange - 1 pc.;
- granulated sugar - 700 g.
How to Make Plum Jam with Orange
Let's prepare the fruits: divide the plums into halves and remove all the bones. We will not cut plums with the foot, so that they maintain integrity after cooking. But peel the orange from the peel and cut into small pieces. Orange slices give the jam a special aroma and taste. Crusts can be thrown away, and dried and used when brewing tea in the winter.
We transfer the fruits to the container, where we will cook the jam and fill it with sugar. It is not necessary to stir the fruits, you can only shake them slightly, the crystals will melt.
After 2-3 hours, put on the stove and cook the jam over low heat. Boil the fruits and after 40 minutes of slow languishing, the jam with citrus is ready.
In pre-washed and dried jars, we spread the hot jam, filling the container to the shoulders.
Roll up the lids and let cool completely under a warm blanket. We store the jam in the usual pantry. It is important that the sun does not fall on the banks.
