How to prepare plum jam with apples for the winter
First, wash the fruit, let the water go completely. We cut the apples into halves to make it easier to remove the core. Prepared apples are cut into thin slices.
Break plums into halves and take out all the bones. The fruits are ready for jam.
In a deep pan we put the fruits: halves of plums and apple slices. Strongly finely chopped them do not need to, because during cooking they will still slightly decrease in volume.
Pour sugar on top and leave for 5-6 hours, until the fruits let the juice go. You can shake the pan slightly so that the apples and plums mix with sugar. Do not mix with a spoon, so as not to crush.
When the juice appeared, set to simmer on low heat, simmer jam for 40 minutes. The fruits become soft, and the jam gradually thickens. Mix several times, as sugar can burn to the bottom of the pan. We interfere literally a couple of times, as soft fruits can lose their shape.
We put jam in glass steamed jars, it looks very appetizing, and its aroma will scatter throughout your house. The burgundy color of the plums was also transmitted to apples, so the jam came out in a very rich, bright shade.
We twist the cans with lids and, as expected, we insulate the “fur coat” - this is an ordinary warm blanket. After cooling, the jam goes into the pantry. In winter, it will complement the family tea party.
Bon Appetite!
