Hybrid tomato varieties are becoming more and more popular among gardeners, because they are more resistant to diseases and weather conditions and have many other privileges compared to ordinary tomatoes.

One of the common hybrid varieties is “Debut”, it was created by the painstaking work of breeders from the Netherlands. Below are its characteristics and recommended plant care.

Grade description

Tomato "Debut" is listed in the state register of the Russian Federation as suitable for growing in open ground and film shelters. Bushes of the determinant type, usually do not exceed 75 centimeters in height, therefore, do not need pinching. Ripening dates are ultra early, you can taste ripe fruits already 90-95 after sowing the material. The variety is distinguished by extended fruiting, which allows tomatoes to regale for a long time. You can grow bushes throughout the country, given the climate, planting in the garden, or in a greenhouse.

Due to the fact that tomatoes ripen early, they do not have time to be affected by late blight. The variety is resistant to verticillosis, fusarium, stem cancer. Also, according to breeders, Debut is immune to leaf spot and tolerates hot, dry weather.

The bush is not very powerful medium-leaved, the leaves are thin inherent in tomato form, green. Inflorescences of the intermediate type. The fruits have a rounded shape, with a small indentation near the stem, the mass of one varies from 180 to 220 grams. The skin is dense, smooth, at the stage of maturity it is painted in a bright red color. Tomatoes can be eaten fresh, also canned whole. The variety is suitable for making juice, sauces and pasta. disadvantages - Perhaps, in addition to the need for a garter, they are not.

Growing seedlings

Tomatoes are usually grown in seedlings, seeds are usually sown 50-55 days before the expected date of planting in a permanent place. They are treated with tiram, so you do not need to pre-soak them. The duration of growing seedlings depends on the time of year, in winter this period can be up to 9 weeks, in spring 6 weeks, in summer only 5 weeks is enough for seedlings to grow. Plant seeds in cassettes or wooden boxes using peat mix. Seeds are sown to a depth of approximately 1 cm. It is imperative that the recommended temperature regime be observed; at high rates, the seedlings stretch on the thermometer, and the stems loosen. If the stems are too powerful, but the seedlings do not grow, experienced gardeners advise reducing the night temperature to 16 degrees.

Seedlings dive in a separate container when three leaves appear. After transplanting, it is better to feed them with complex mineral fertilizers, this will help them better transfer the transplant and not linger in growth. Subsequent care of seedlings consists in regular watering with warm, settled water and loosening the earth, a plastic fork is well suited for this.

Transplant to the garden

In order to get a good harvest, you need not only to pay attention to care, but also to choose the right soil for planting. The soil should be loose, absorb moisture well, at least two weeks before planting it should be fertilized with humus, peat can also be added. A place for tomatoes needs to be selected well-lit, as they love light very much.

Planting time depends on the climate of the region of residence, in the morning it is not recommended to transfer the bushes to a permanent place, since at this time they are weaker than any other. It is recommended to tie the bushes so that the fruits do not touch the ground, therefore, when planting nearby, wooden stakes or pipes are driven in. On 1 m 2 place from 6 to 8 seedlings. The best results were shown by plants formed in 2 stems.

The bushes are fed several times a season, but it’s not worth zealous, otherwise the green mass will increase, and the fruiting period will be delayed. Although they can tolerate drought, it’s still better to provide watering a couple of times a week, it is advisable to do this in the cool time of the day. At least once every two weeks you need to loosen the earth, this procedure helps the root system to be saturated with oxygen and to develop better. It is also imperative to get rid of weed grass in time, which takes useful substances from the soil. If plants grow in a greenhouse, it needs to be ventilated daily.

Harvesting and subsequent storage

It is advisable to collect ripe tomatoes at least twice a week, choosing the morning time for this. If tomatoes are planned to be transported, it is better to pick them not fully ripened (brown). To keep them longer, it is necessary to maintain a room temperature of 12-13 degrees. It is impossible to store the spoiled fruits together with good, otherwise they can become worthless.

Conclusion

“Debut” is an excellent productive variety, it can be grown both for yourself and for sale. Many gardeners have already appreciated it for its delicious fruits and earlier ripening. Caring for plants is not too laborious, even a novice agronomist can cope with it.

Reviews

Anna 38 years old

Mom brought several varieties of tomato seeds, one of them is "Debut". I don’t really like hybrids at all, I planted them once, though I don’t remember the name, I didn’t like the taste, I decided not to experiment anymore. But this year I thought, what if you're lucky? Seedlings grew excellent, there were no problems with it in the greenhouse in May. Seedlings grew healthy, though the stems on the bushes are thin, afraid that they would break, even though they tied. The harvest was excellent, and the food was enough for conservation.

Anatoly 55 years old

He was satisfied with the variety, it is resistant to diseases and does not require frequent top dressing, fertilized only once, two weeks after transplantation. The rest of the time, the plants were content with useful substances that were in the soil. Harvest from this did not suffer at all, from one bush I collected about 4 kilograms. Compact bushes do not take up much space, this is also a big plus, if the garden is not large and every square meter counts.
