Description and description of tomato "Dietmar"

5.02.2018 Tomatoes

Tomato Ditmar, designed for indoor and outdoor use, is a novelty of the German collection. It forms a brush on which up to 7 red tomatoes weighing at least 100 gr. every fetus. Universal ripe tomato has excellent taste.

It can be grown throughout the Russian Federation. Gardeners like tomatoes because they enter fruiting 90 days after emergence. Bushes are hung with bunches on which sweet juicy fruits with a slight smack of acid actively ripen.

What attracts the variety

Ditmar is a semi-determinant plant. This is a fairly rare phenomenon in tomatoes, which is especially appreciated by vegetable growers, because it combines the best properties of determinant and indeterminate tomatoes:

  1. The bush has a bush height of about 1.5m.
  2. It has long fruiting.
  3. Forms new ovaries in stepsons.
  4. Not susceptible to many fungal and bacterial diseases.

The main advantage of this variety is early fruiting, which lasts until the end of August. Dietmar produces red tomatoes with pink flesh. Tomatoes can be used on salads, juices and pickling.

The crop is stored for about 2 weeks. Tomatoes are transported in clusters. Fruits ripped in technical ripeness quickly turn red and do not burst during transport.

During the season, one bush gives a yield of up to 7 kg. In the photo below, you can see all the advantages of the Dietmar variety.

How to grow this variety

Growing Ditmar tomato does not require special care. They work with the seed fund in the same way as the other varieties of tomatoes. Seeds are sown in pots 55 days before planting in a permanent place. Seedlings are fed with a solution of urea and potassium fertilizers, watered and loosened the earth.

Seedlings are transplanted into closed ground when the temperature in the greenhouse reaches 20C. Three plants are located on 1 m2. In a closed ground, a bush is formed into 3 stems to provide access of oxygen and light to each plant.

In the open ground, the lateral shoots of the Dietmar variety are often left so that the fruits are actively tied to them. This is permissible if the summer is long, dry, and pathogenic microflora cannot damage the crop. With this formation of the bush, he lays on the ground and spreads along the bed.

If the summer is wet, then the tomatoes are tied up when grown. When the upper part of the bush over time begins to outweigh and fill up the support, pinch side shoots on the bush. This reduces the amount of ovary, but allows you to get larger tomatoes.

What reviews do vegetable growers leave

Grade reviews contain positive language. Ditmar gives medium-sized fruits, which is characteristic of early varieties. It is often planted in summer cottages to get an early tomato crop.

Maria, Irkutsk Region: The tomato season begins with the Ditmar variety. In mid-July, it is hung with clusters of fruits of very good taste. So that the plants knotted tomatoes well, we process the bushes with the "Ovary" preparation.

Semyon, Southern Urals: We plant Dietmar indoors. Before planting, we process the seeds with a solution of potassium permanganate. When we plant tomatoes in a greenhouse, dip the root into Kornevin powder. This allows you to accelerate the growth of the root system and makes the stems of the bush more powerful. As a result, we get a plentiful harvest. Tomatoes from 5 bushes received a lot.The collected fruits were enough for salads and for preparing hot dishes.

Ivan, Moscow Region: Ditmar tomato bushes grow in a greenhouse. These tomatoes have many fruits tied in twigs. We remove the side shoots, we tie the bush to a high support, and we bandage it several times. This helps to take care of the bushes and timely clean up the clusters ready for collection.
