Pepper Prince Igor is a hybrid of Russian breeders. Very popular among gardeners and summer residents. Valued for its unpretentiousness and high productivity.

Description of the variety and its characteristics

Prince Igor sweet pepper is a medium-ripening hybrid. Full ripening of fruits takes 109-115 days. The plant is medium-sized 60-70 cm, sprawling, high-yielding. On 1 bush at the same time can ripen up to 25 large peppers. Due to this, it requires garters to the supports. From 1 meter square you can collect up to 20 kilograms of the crop.

The fruits are large, have the shape of an elongated cube. The walls of the fetus are thick - 7-9 mm, dense, juicy. Weight reaches 120 gr. and more. The color of the unripe fruit is dark green, and when fully ripened, it is dark red. The taste is sweet. The smell is pronounced and fragrant. It contains a lot of vitamin C. It is intended for fresh consumption, for processing and freezing.

Features and disadvantages of the variety

The hybrid is resistant to lower temperatures and low light. It is also resistant to diseases such as the tobacco mosaic virus, verticillosis, fusarium. A great plus is the ability to grow both indoors and outdoors.

The disadvantages include the fact that Prince Igor does not tolerate prolonged drought and is demanding on watering.

Cultivation and care

Seeds for seedlings are sown in late February and early March. In phase 2-3 of these leaves carry out a pick. After this, seedlings are fed with a solution of superphosphate. Soil for sowing use light, water and breathable. A mixture of humus, turf and peat is well suited. Planted in the garden or in the greenhouse 2 months after seed germination. Further care consists in watering, loosening the soil, removing weeds and applying fertilizing.

Prince Igor is a tall plant, so when planting it in a permanent place you need to put a stake in a hole with pepper. To further tie a plant to it and not damage the roots. Landing is carried out according to the scheme 40x60 cm.

Pepper is especially undemanding to the soil. But best fruiting on light fertile soils. Good places after planting legumes, cabbage, cucumbers or carrots.
