How roses are propagated by cuttings at home by cuttings
For breeding roses, the most common method is used - cuttings. Using it, already in the second year, you can get seedlings. The cuttings must be taken from the middle part of the shoot, which has already bloomed. It should have 2-3 formed kidneys. All manipulations with cuttings should be carried out in the morning, when the roses are saturated with moisture. After trimming, they should be put in water.
Rooting a decorative culture is best in a greenhouse. Containers are also suitable for these purposes. When preparing the substrate, a layer of humus (20-25 cm), a layer of sod are used, and river sand is poured on top. Cuttings are planted at an angle to a third of the depth and well watered. After that, they are covered with a film on top. Within a month, the plant must take root. When 2-3 leaves appear, it is advisable to feed it with a solution of calcium nitrate. For the prevention of powdery mildew, you can spray with foundationazole.
The cuttings prepared in this way are well preserved in wet sand until spring. Before planting in the soil, the root system should be treated with a solution of potassium permanganate for disinfection.
Planting roses at home
A good time for planting a rose is spring and autumn. A few days before planting, wells (50x50x50) are prepared and filled with water. When the water is absorbed and the land settles, they fill it with a mixture of humus and fertile land at the rate of 50/50. If the seedlings have open long roots, then they are cut to a length of 30 cm. Another option is to transplant the rose from the container. In this case, the seedling is carefully removed along with the root lump and lowered into the hole. After planting, the bushes are slightly pulled, and the earth around them is rammed. Then water abundantly. For better rooting, they are immediately sprinkled with earth. In the heat, this will save the seedlings from drying out, and in the fall - from frost. In the first year, emerging buds are cut off so that the rose gains strength for growth.
