Characteristics and Description

Grade Brought out in 2000 by a Russian agricultural scientist by the name of Krainov. For breeding, he used the variety Kishmish radiant and the Talisman. The resulting variety absorbed only the best qualities from parents and turned out to be very successful. He got his name, thanks to the breeder, who brought him out.

Vmnograd is considered to be early, the ripening period is short, 110 days elapse from the moment of budding to full ripening of the berries. In the first decade of August there is an opportunity to try the berries. Flowering begins in early summer, the flowers are bisexual, so there is no need to specifically pollinate or plant other varieties. The vine is actively formed, especially if the shoots are shortened. The fruiting vine is pruned to 3-4 eyes, if it is still young. On adult shoots, 20 eyes are left, this amount is enough for abundant fruiting.

On a note!
The height of adult grapes is 5-6 m.

Bunches of grapes vary in size, depending on the observance of the technique of agricultural cultivation. The mass of one sometimes exceeds 700 g, but usually ranges from 500 to 650 g. The berries are picked tightly, but do not crush. The grapes themselves weighing 15-20 g, have an oval shape. The tip is a little pointed. In color, they are different: from pink to purple. The color is affected by sunlight and temperature. The skin is moderately hard, when bitten, it is not felt. The taste of berries harmonizes between sweetness and sourness. The pulp is dense, contains several small seeds.

The variety is recognized as frost-resistant. Even without shelter, Victor is able to withstand temperatures of -20 degrees. At the same time, the vital activity of the shoots is preserved, in the spring they will depart and begin to develop. Landing

Planting grapes will require a lot of space. Since the variety is tall, the distance between the bushes should be at least 2 meters. For growing it is better to select a site without shaded areas, it is possible on a hill and in loamy soil. It is customary to plant and propagate a variety of Victor in several ways:

  • planting seedlings. The most common method. They are bought at fairs or exhibitions. Both dormant and greenish plants are suitable;
  • cuttings. If neighbors grow adult grapes, cuttings are separated from it in spring. Cuttings are taken from the most powerful plant;
  • sowing seeds. This method is rarely practiced due to its duration. It may take more than one year before the bushes are suitable for planting;
  • rooting branches. This method is suitable for propagating a vineyard. Sprout sprinkled with soil, in a few weeks it will already release the roots into the ground.

Saplings or cuttings will take root well in the spring, somewhere in early May. Shelter of young plants is not necessary, they must get used to the temperature and develop immune qualities.

Grape care

After planting grapes “Victor” will not require much attention, since it grows almost by itself. If you comply some recommendations, then the harvest will already please next summer:

  • watering should be plentiful and timely. About 2-3 liters of clean water are consumed per bush. The frequency of watering is 1 time in 2-3 weeks, in summer in hot weather you can increase the rate to 2 times;
  • the soil is mulched with sawdust or a layer of straw. It is advisable to mulch after watering;
  • weed aisles and land near the near-stem circle from extraneous grass and weeds. The soil must be clean;
  • the soil is loosened into a layer of not more than 5-6 cm weekly to enrich the earth with oxygen;
  • in the spring, dew roots are cut off from the plant.
Attention!
Pruning is done before the active circulation of juices in the branches begins, tentatively in early April.

Shelter for the winter

Mulch and agrofibre contribute to the preservation of culture until next spring. You need to cover it when it gets noticeably colder on the street, not earlier than November. A thick layer of straw is laid on dry ground and covered with agrofiber. They fix the material so that it does not fly off during the winter and leave the grapes to winter. Open plants begin no earlier than the end of March.

Reviews

There are not as many reviews about this variety as about other varieties of grapes. Those gardeners who came across him respond positively.

Anfisa from Tyumen wrote:

“I accidentally met seedlings at the exhibition and decided to purchase. Before that, grapes have never been grown. Seedlings immediately began to grow after planting, I cut some of the branches from them. In the second year, the grapes bloomed, and in the third year I had already harvested a full crop. I continue to grow the variety, I spend pruning only in the spring, although I heard that many prune grapes in the autumn too. ”

Valery says:

“Variety Victor is suitable for those who want to harvest a regular crop. Without berries, you will not stay for sure, even if you don’t feed the culture with anything. Planted grapes 4 years ago and did not regret it at all. I have not been collecting less than 5 kg from one plant for the third year in a row. It was possible to root several branches into independent plants, they only bloomed, had not yet fruited. For all the time that I grow grapes, he has never been sick and did not cause care care. ”
