Characterization and description of the variety
Beauty is the pride of Russian selection. It was brought out by amateur breeder E.G. Pavlovsky. He crossed the pink-fruited variety Victoria and the European grape variety, the exact name of which has not been established. The result was a grape with large, weighty clusters weighing 800-900 g. The cluster has a conical shape with several "wings". Berries fit tightly to each other. The color of the fruit is maroon with a pink transition. The color is complex, heterogeneous. The shape of the berry is round with a pointed nose, the weight is from 7 to 10 g.
To taste the berries earned a high score of 4.6 out of 5. The skin is dense, reliably protects the flesh from damage, and is not felt when biting. The pulp is sweet with musky notes, sugar content - 20%, acidity - 6 g / l. The appointment of Beauty is universal. Basically it is fresh consumption, sale. Berries perfectly transported over long distances, do not crumple. Grapes are suitable for jam, making homemade wine, tinctures.
The ripening period takes 110-120 days. Flowering occurs in late spring, hermaphroditic flowers, the variety does not need pollinators. Shoots develop rapidly and mature fully. Caring for a variety can be represented in a few simple steps:
- watering. The main requirement is regularity. The variety tolerates drought well, but not for long. Grapes are watered under the bush with an interval of 1 time in 2-3 weeks, no foliar watering is needed. One plant takes from 10 to 15 liters of water. The water temperature should be at least 20 degrees; otherwise, the roots will rot;
- mulching. Dry straw, peat and sawdust are used to preserve moisture in the soil. Mulch protects the root system from the summer heat. Mulching is carried out approximately 1 time per month, after watering;
- top dressing. Fertilizer use begins when the grape is 3 years old or more. Beauty responds well to organics and mineral supplements.
