However, breeders are constantly working to improve the quality of planting material, and today there are varieties that are successfully grown in the Moscow Region climate.

The best varieties of sweet pepper for Moscow region

The Moscow Region is characterized by its climatic conditions, which must be taken into account when growing a particular pepper variety. The most optimal varieties are Cornet, Orange Wonder, Health, Winnie the Pooh, Chardash, Pinocchio.

Cornet

Cornet is a variety of early ripeness. It is unusual in that the fruits at the stage of full ripeness become dark brown or inky purple. The plant is semi-determinant, the lashes are vigorous, but not very branching. The foliage of the bush is weak. On average, the height of the plant is 160-170 cm, but can reach two meters.

Cornet is characterized by good fruit setting and constant fruiting during the season. Full ripening occurs after about four and a half months. Ripe juicy pepper fruits have an average weight of 200 grams. In shape, the fruits resemble an inverted prism, but with a blunt apex. Walls of pepper are embossed, ribbed, about 5 mm thick.

The variety is intended for cultivation in heated greenhouses, as well as in film greenhouses, heating of which is not provided. With good care and favorable weather conditions from one bush you can collect up to 15 pieces of pepper.

Orange miracle

The orange miracle also belongs to the sweet early ripe varieties of pepper, the ripe fruits of which have an unusual sunny orange hue.

Varieties have a growing season, which is approximately three and a half months. Plants reach meter height and have a very beautiful unusual appearance. Ripe pepper fruits have the shape of an elongated cube, the thickness of the walls of the pepper is about 6 mm, they have embossed grooves. The weight of the fruit is about 230-250 grams, the yield is about ten fruits from one bush.

You can grow Orange Miracle both in greenhouse conditions and in open ground.

Health

Sweet pepper Health refers to high-yielding, very early varieties. The plant is quite tall, more than one and a half meters tall. But the growing season of the variety is less than the previous species, two and a half months.

Compared with the Orange miracle and Cornet, the fruits of the Health variety are not very large, weighing about 40 grams. The pepper wall thickness is also less by a couple of millimeters. The shape of the pepper is conical with a pointed end, a little over 10 cm long. Ripe pepper has a uniform red color.

Winnie the Pooh

The variety is very productive and unpretentious in care. A good harvest of Winnie the Pooh can be obtained even in the conditions of the Ural cool climate.

Ripening occurs within three and a half months, but in greenhouse conditions, the crop can be obtained earlier. Plants of this variety are stunted, only 30 cm tall. The fruits of the Winnie the Pooh pepper are located on the bush with a bouquet, ripen very amicably, and despite their name, are medium-sized, weighing only 50-70 grams. The pepper is red-orange in color and has a wall thickness of approximately 5 mm.

Czardas

The Chardash variety is early and cold-resistant. Grown in greenhouse buildings and open ground. We get the crop in three months. The variety is determinant, the height of the bush varies from 60-70 cm to 1 m.

Pepper fruits grow on a bush in a bunch-like fashion. In a ripe form, the pepper conical with a pointed end has an orange-red color. In unripe form, the fruits have a yellow-orange color and can also be eaten at this maturity level. The weight of ripe fruits is about 250 grams. Pepper wall thickness of about 6 mm. With proper care from one bush in the season, you can collect fruits up to 18 pieces.

Pinocchio

Pinocchio is a hybrid, and very early. The fruits are tied together. Harvest can be harvested after three months. The plant is semi-determinant, with a height of about 70 cm to 1 m.

The ripened fruits of the Pinocchio variety have a very interesting gradient color - from scarlet to maroon. Pepper has a conical, very elongated shape.
