We prepare Bulgarian apple pie at home from simple and affordable products. Apples for this step-by-step recipe with a photo are better to choose two varieties - half sweet and sour and half sweet, and certainly juicy! Part of the wheat flour can be replaced with wheat bran or instant oatmeal - it will also be delicious.

Ingredients:

  • apples - 1 kg;
  • semolina - 200 g;
  • granulated sugar - 160 g;
  • wheat flour - 180 g;
  • baking powder dough - 2 tsp;
  • honey - 35 g;
  • milk - 260 ml;
  • ground cinnamon, butter.

How to bake a Bulgarian pie

We mix dry ingredients - pour wheat flour into a bowl, add semolina and baking powder, mix.

Add the fine white sugar, again mix the products thoroughly, weigh and divide the contents of the bowl into three equal parts. By the way, white sugar can be replaced with brown, then the crust of the cake will turn caramel.

Lubricate the non-stick form (one-piece!) With butter, sprinkle with flour. Pour into the form 1/3 of the dry mixture, shake it so that the mixture crumbles in an even layer.

We cut the apples, remove the core, rub on a large vegetable grater. Put half the grated apples in a mold.

Melt the honey in a water bath, pour apples half the honey and sprinkle with ground cinnamon. By the way, if the honey is very thick, then you can mix it with several tablespoons of warm milk.

At this stage, sprinkle apples with a second portion of the dry mixture. Sprinkle evenly, gently shake, so that the mixture wakes up a little in the apple layer.

Now put the remaining apples, again pour them with honey and sprinkle with ground cinnamon.

We fill the pie with the remaining dry mixture, often we pierce the pie with a knife or stick, then fill with milk or cream.

We heat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius.
