Porcini mushroom picking in Moscow region

Mushroom picking has always been a popular hobby, not only in Russia but also abroad. Mushroom hunting is not only an opportunity to spend time in nature, but also to collect a large number of delicious mushrooms with your own hands. After all, everyone knows that mushrooms collected with their own hands are always tastier than purchased ones.

The situation in the suburbs for July 2018

This year, the mushroom season began very early: in the second half of May, which is abnormal for the Moscow region. Despite the fact that many areas due to the weather conditions of this year (spring began very abruptly and tons of snow melted in just a few days) practically “floated” in the water, others - languished from drought, some still managed to “create” favorable conditions for the appearance of porcini mushrooms, brown boletus, champignons, butter and even chanterelles in the twentieth of May. And, notably, they appeared out of order, but all at the same time.

Being the hottest month of summer, July is not the most favorable month for mushroom hunting. Mushroom growth requires warm, but not arid weather, with a certain amount of rain. Mushrooms love a warm, but not arid climate.

Where to pick mushrooms?

Each year, the mass of mushroom places appears disappearing, replacing each other, this is due to the constant change in weather conditions in our region, which is why in order to be a successful mushroom picker, it is necessary to understand: mushroom hunting is not an easy task, requiring patience.

Important! Carefully distinguish between edible and “false” mushrooms. And remember: you need to check the phone’s charge level and the availability of a card, before you go mushrooming into the forest to protect yourself.
Boletus

The Moscow region is saturated with mushroom places, here are some of them:

  1. Ruzsky district. This place is famous for its many forests, which means mushrooms. You can find a storehouse of mushrooms near Oreshek, in the direction of the Ivanovo Territorial Administration, and places near Novovolkovo are also prolific.
  2. Stupinsky district. There are several beautiful arrays in which there are: boletus, porcini mushrooms and honey mushrooms. You can get to these places by train from the Paveletsky station. Tick precautions: hats, long-sleeved clothing, etc.
  3. Egorievsky district. Another "paradise" for the mushroom picker. Near villages such as Shuvoe, Savvino and others, you can find a lot of porcini mushrooms, aspen mushrooms, greenfinchs, seaworms, brown boletus, chanterelle mushrooms, and underwater swamps. Before going to the forest, you need to wear footwear that protects your legs, because the area is full of snakes.
  4. City Roshal. Here is an area rich in mushrooms. And they grow right in the city.
  5. Odintsovskii district - a place full of mushrooms. Please note that there are a huge number of fly agaric.

Forecasts

A large crop of mushrooms is expected in the suburbs. Serpukhovo is one of the most productive places this year, in the opinion of mycologists. But only most of them are mushrooms that quickly adapt to weather conditions, i.e.champignons and porcini mushrooms familiar to us in 2018 will be few. The first honey mushrooms are expected in August, in the middle of the month we are waiting for thrills and whites. The end of August has always been the most mushroom period and this year will not be an exception.
