Salad with herring - even tastier than the usual and familiar to us “Herring in a fur coat”
Today we will prepare an original salad with herring. It turns out much tastier than the usual "Herring in a fur coat", as well as more beautiful and festive.
The difference between the salad is that for this recipe we will additionally use pickled mushrooms - they, in combination with herring, give simply amazing results. Also add beets, carrots and eggs.
The dish is laid out in layers, smeared with mayonnaise. You can serve such a salad to the table right away, but it’s better to soak it for an hour, then the result will be amazing.
Boil the vegetables in advance, prepare the herring and proceed. Mushrooms can also be pickled at home.Ingredients:
- beets - 2 pcs.;
- carrots - 1 pc.;
- chicken eggs - 2 pcs.;
- pickled champignons - 150 g;
- herring - 150 g;
- mayonnaise - 2 tbsp;
- salt, pepper - to taste.
How to make a herring salad
Prepare all products. Boil beets, carrots and chicken eggs in advance. Peel and grate beets, divide into two parts. Lay out half the beets with the first layer, grease with mayonnaise, lightly salt and pepper.
Cut the pickled mushrooms into plates or cubes, put the mushrooms in the next layer.
Grate boiled carrots on a medium grater, put the carrots in the next layer. Lubricate carrots with a little mayonnaise.
Peel and grate chicken eggs, put on top of carrots. Grease with mayonnaise, salt and pepper.
Now lay out the remaining beet layer.
Peel and grind herring, cut into pieces. Put herring on top of beets. That's all, soak the salad for an hour and serve.
