Herring appetizer - a simple and tasty recipe
An appetizer of herring and potatoes is a dish so delicious that you just lick your fingers. But there are a lot of variations of such snacks. We offer assorted 5 different appetizers with herring - tartlets with filling, stuffed eggs, balls in greens, rolls with lemon and onions and thick pasta with crackers.
It will take 40 minutes to cook. From the ingredients indicated in the recipe with the photo, 5-6 servings will be obtained.
Ingredients:
- slightly salted herring - 350-400 g;
- chicken egg - 6 pcs.;
- red onion - 1 pc.;
- boiled beets - 1 pc.;
- boiled potatoes - 2 pcs.;
- avocado - 1 pc.;
- fresh cucumber - 1 pc.;
- processed cheese - 100 g;
- butter - 30 g;
- lemon - 1 pc.;
- dill, parsley - 1 bunch;
- mayonnaise - 100 g;
- tartlets, salted crackers.
How to cook an appetizer of herring with potatoes
With a sharp knife, cut the long fillet of herring into thin slices. Cut the red onion into rings. Cut lemon into thin slices.
Wrap a slice of lemon in the fillet, fasten the roll with a red onion ring. We make a few rolls, put it on a plate.
We cool two hard-boiled eggs, carefully peel off the shell. Cut the eggs in half, take out the yolk.
We mix the grated beets, egg yolks, finely chopped dill, mayonnaise in a bowl, add the herring slightly chopped in small cubes, mix thoroughly.
Cut the bottoms of the egg halves, fill the halves with beet mince.
Decorate the stuffed eggs with slices of herring and a leaf of parsley or dill.
Knead the avocado pulp with a fork or cut into cubes.
We add diced herring fillet (about 70 g) to the avocado, season with herbs and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
We fill the tartlets with a mixture of herring and avocado.
We rub boiled potatoes and two hard-boiled eggs on a fine grater, add softened butter, finely chopped herring (100 g) and half the cream cheese.
Mix the ingredients thoroughly to get a thick, uniform mass.
We cool the mass in the refrigerator for several minutes, sculpt the balls, roll in chopped greens.
We mix in a bowl two boiled eggs, fresh cucumber, herring fillet, the remaining cream cheese, squeeze a tablespoon of lemon juice.
Grind the ingredients with a hand blender until a homogeneous paste is formed.
We spread the pasta on salted crackers or on slices of boiled potatoes, decorate with greens and cranberries.
We spread the snacks on a flat plate or a large board, immediately serve on the table. Bon Appetit.
