Delicious Braised Cabbage with Sausages
Stewed cabbage is a fairly satisfying meal, and it also fills the body with healthy fiber found in vegetables. Ingredients:
- cabbage - ¼ large head of cabbage;
- sausages - 5-6 pcs.;
- onions - ½ large onions;
- tomato paste - 2 tbsp. l with horseback;
- salt to taste;
- cooking oil for frying;
- black pepper peas - 7 pcs.;
- sugar - 1 tbsp. l without a hill;
- garlic - 2-3 cloves;
- bay leaf - a few leaves
How to Cook Braised Cabbage with Sausages
Put a frying pan on the stove, make the fire medium - at the very beginning of cooking, the pan just needs to warm up. Pour vegetable oil (at least 3 tablespoons) into the bottom of the dish, and while it is warming, remove the husk from the onion and cut it into half rings. If you use one small onion, you can cut it into whole rings. Transfer the onion slices to a frying pan and fry them until transparent, stirring occasionally.
Cut the cabbage on the kitchen board and remember well with your hands. Thanks to this “trick”, the pieces of cabbage will break and let the juice go: the dish will turn out to be more tender in the future.
Do not fry the onion too much: after all, he still has to fry it with cabbage. Therefore, as soon as the onion becomes transparent, transfer the cabbage to it, mix and further fry these two components together.
Place the tomato paste in a small bowl or cup, add 200 ml of water and stir until smooth. Pour this gravy into a pan with cabbage. Salt the dish, add sugar and stir. Cover the bowl and simmer the cabbage for 15 minutes, not forgetting to stir.
After 15 minutes, remove the lid from the pan. Squeeze the cloves of garlic through the press directly into the cabbage, place the bay leaf and black peppercorns in the same place. Stir the cabbage with the seasonings, add water if necessary, and cover the pan again.
Free the raw sausages from the film and cut them into circles with a thickness of 5-7 mm.
Add the slices of sausages to the cabbage, stir, cover again and simmer everything together for another 10 minutes.
During this time, pieces of sausages will increase in size and fully cooked.
