Bigos Polish - a delicious dish of sauerkraut with meat and smoked meats, having tried it, you will love it forever! And although this recipe does not belong to the category of fast ones, sometimes you can spend time cooking to pamper your loved ones with something delicious, because the result is worth it.

It will take 72 hours to cook. Of the ingredients indicated in the recipe with step-by-step photo, 6 servings will be obtained.

Ingredients:

  • sauerkraut - 1 kg;
  • white cabbage - 0.5 kg;
  • pork - 0.5 kg;
  • smoked sausage - 350 g;
  • sausages or sausages - 250 g;
  • dry white wine - 200 ml;
  • filtered water - 0.5 l;
  • vegetable oil - 25 ml;
  • bay leaf, black pepper, coriander, caraway seeds, cilantro, salt to taste.

Carefully wash the sauerkraut with cold running water, put in a thick-walled pan or roasting pan, pour filtered water.

We put the roasting pan on the stove, close it with a lid, simmer for 1 hour over low heat.

By the way, if you do not like the smell that accompanies the stewing of sauerkraut, then after boiling, drain the water, rinse the cabbage again under the tap, pour fresh water, continue to simmer.

Meanwhile, cut the pork belly into large slices. Choose pork with layers of fat for this recipe, so it will be tastier.

Fry the meat on both sides in a well-heated pan greased with vegetable oil.

    it's not bigos! it is boiled cabbage with a very unpleasant odor. Sauerkraut needs to be washed, squeezed hard and then stew everything !!!!
