Favorite Salad - A Real Vitamin Boom
Bright, delicious salad “Beloved” with a rich spicy taste fits perfectly into the festive menu, suitable for a romantic dinner or a family meal. It has both spiciness and sweetness, the creamy taste of cheese and crispy carrots, buttery walnuts, tender beets and spicy garlic are felt.
Despite the abundance of ingredients, the taste of the salad is harmonious, remembered for its variety.
Dressed with mayonnaise salad, preferably freshly prepared homemade. If mayonnaise is excluded from your diet, you can replace it with sour cream or thick yogurt without additives.
Beets for this step-by-step recipe with a photo are recommended to be baked in foil or steamed. Too juicy beets after grinding need to be squeezed from the juice and then mixed with a small amount of mayonnaise. Since the beetroot layer will be from below, the root crop should not be watery, otherwise the salad may “float”.
Ingredients:
- small beets - 2 pcs;
- walnuts - 5-6 pcs;
- hard cheese of mild varieties - 100 g;
- large carrots - 1 pc;
- dark raisins - 2 tbsp. l;
- mayonnaise - to taste;
- garlic - 2-3 cloves;
- any greens - for decoration.
How to make a favorite salad
Grind carrots through a grater. Which one to choose: small or large - at your discretion. Grated carrots will be crispy, finely chopped more tender, soft. Add raisins, mayonnaise, steamed in boiling water, to the carrots and mix. One layer for the salad is ready.
We rub a piece of cheese, we also select the degree of grinding to your taste. Add the grated garlic and mayonnaise to the cheese chips. We mix. Set aside the cheese mass.
We take out the kernels from the walnuts, pour them into a dry hot pan, or place in the oven and dry. After cooling, finely chop, leaving a little to decorate the salad before serving.
Cook the beets in advance until tender. Let cool, clean. Grated on a coarse grater, squeeze the excess juice.
Mix boiled beets with chopped nuts. If the beets are unsweetened, add a bit of sugar for a richer flavor.
Add mayonnaise to the beetroot mass. A little, one or two spoons will be enough.
On a plate or in a deep transparent bowl we spread the beetroot layer, trim the edges, give a neat shape. Or use the culinary ring.
The next layer is made from grated carrots mixed with raisins and mayonnaise.
Top with cheese chips. Garnish with half a walnut, herbs and serve immediately. The salad is very juicy, it is not necessary to insist on it. Bon Appetit!
